In a city known more for it’s athletes and politicians, the rap music community in greater Boston has been somewhat misrepresented by the mainstream culture. With a likeness to a young Mobb Deep, Chief C and Ze the Young Don, carry the load as the core MC’s in the group. With producer, J.Cardim supplying the necessary touches, the Certified G'z are guaranteed to bring back the variety that is lacking in the modern day Rap game.

Chris Davis AKA Chief C is a founding member of the Certified G’z. Being raised in the Putnum Projects in the Coast section of Cambridge, MA, Chris along with fellow C.G Jose, came to learning the street mentality at an early age. With school not being Chris’s main concern, he ended up resorting to music for his creative inspiration. Through the sounds of Tupac Shakur and Notorious B.I.G, Chris realized his potential with rapping and was determined to succeed. Along with R.A.P records cofounder and in house producer J. Cardim, C began to pursue music as a full-time occupation, and by the start of the new millenium, J Cardim and Chief C had established themselves as potential breakout stars on the lackluster Boston Hip-hop scene. In order to support a young son who carries his namesake, Chief C is willing to put his heart and soul into his craft in order to achieve his dreams. Since his early days of freestyling on the corner, to performing in numerous talent shows and live performances, Chief C is destined to leave his imprint on the budding East Coast hip-hop scene.

Fellow Certified G member Jose, AKA Ze the Young Don followed a slightly different path into the R.A.P family. Being childhood friends with Chief C allowed for Ze to realize his potential as an MC at an early age, and to follow his passion for rapping into his adult years. Being brought up in the Port section of Cambridge, life growing up was not always easy for Ze. After bouncing around from School to School, he was kicked out by the eleventh grade and was in and out of trouble with the law. Realizing the severity of his decision making as an adolescent, Ze has matured into a motivated adult and has turned his former after school hobby into a full time job. By listening to the likes of Bun B, Nas and Tupac, the Young Don has learned what is necessary to be a unique, successful MC in today’s Rap game.
